Waterpalooza: Celebrating Conservation One Drop at a Time

East Valley Water District (District) welcomed more than 700 residents to its annual Waterpalooza Festival, a free, family-friendly celebration hosted at the Sterling Natural Resource Center (SNRC) community facility on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

For those feeling up for a challenge, a Flush Smart Relay Race where participants raced against the clock to correctly sort common household items was the perfect test of speed and smart disposal habits.

District field crews also hosted a tools and vehicle demonstration, giving attendees an up-close look at the equipment and heavy-duty vehicles used to maintain the water and wastewater systems. The fire hydrant ring toss game was a hit among kids and adults, while the water-quality station offered a hands-on opportunity to “pull” a water sample and experience how water professionals test and protect drinking water.

Festival participants also had the opportunity to attend conservation workshop sessions, where they learned practical tips for creating a thriving, water-wise garden in every season. Along with these workshops, the event featured educational activities for all ages, conservation-themed crafts, booths from community-focused agencies, and more.

Waterpalooza was designed to engage residents in a fun and interactive way while highlighting the importance of protecting our most precious resource: water. Through events like this, the District strives to inspire residents of all ages to make the most of every drop and come together in support of a shared commitment to water conservation.
The District looks forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new participants at next year’s event.
