Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the East Valley Water District will hold a Public Hearing Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., at 31111 Greenspot Road, Highland, California.

The purpose of this hearing is to provide a brief explanation of the requirements of AB 2561 (Government Code Section 3502.3) regarding public agency transparency regarding job vacancies, recruitment efforts, and retention strategies.

A presentation will be provided outlining the current number and types of vacant positions, by bargaining unit, within the East Valley Water District workforce. Including the following:

              Recruitment Efforts: A discussion of the District's current recruitment strategies and processes, including any identified obstacles or challenges.

              Retention Strategies: An overview of the District's efforts to retain current employees and improve employee satisfaction.

              Public Comment: Opportunity for the public to provide comments and questions regarding the District's efforts to address vacancies and improve recruitment and retention.

              Employee Organization Presentations: Recognized employee organizations will have the opportunity to make presentations regarding their concerns and recommendations.

All interested persons are invited to attend the above meeting and submit oral and/or written comments to the East Valley Water District Board of Directors at the time of the hearing.

All persons are further invited to review the information and justifications therefore, copies of which will be available for public inspection during regular business hours at the headquarters of the East Valley Water District located at 31111 Greenspot Road, Highland California, ten (10) days prior to the above meeting.

Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Directors of the East Valley Water District will hold a Public Hearing in conjunction with the regularly scheduled board meeting on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., at the East Valley Water District headquarters located at 31111 Greenspot Road, Highland, California.

The purpose of this hearing is to consider adoption of Ordinance No. 408 updating the District's ordinance relating to Board of Directors training requirements, benefits, and compensation. The proposed amendments include the addition of fiscal and financial training requirements, revisions to Director benefits, and increases in Director compensation pursuant to Water Code§ 20202. Compensation for each day of service rendered by a Director shall not exceed ten (10) days in any calendar month. The proposed daily compensation rates are $268.28 for Fiscal Year 2026-27, $279.01 for Fiscal Year 2027-28, and $290.17 for Fiscal Year 2028-29.

The proposed ordinance also includes minor ministerial, grammatical, formatting, and clarifying revisions that do not materially alter the intent, effect, or substance of the ordinance.
